This exquisite expression of the yearning for the divine was translated from the original Persian by author and performance artist Shahram Shiva.

John performs with Shahram Shiva along with other artists (such as Beginner's Mind, Michael Harrison, and special guest Deepak Chopra) to bring the gift of Rumi's poetry to life and to share it with others.

The Rumi Project has performed in such venues as Symphony Space, Camy Hall, The Open Center, WNYC, radio with John Schaeffer, Sufi Books (all in New York City); and Omega Institute, The Chapel Hill Rumi Festival, and Deepak Chopra’s Millennium Event in Palm Springs, California.
